The Adam Smith Heritage Centre is a hidden gem that celebrates the life and legacy of Scotland’s most renowned economist and philosopher. Just a short walk from the High Street, our centre offers a unique glimpse into history, culture, and community, making it a must-visit spot for locals and visitors alike.

When planning your visit to the Adam Smith Heritage Centre, here’s what you need to know about parking:

Limited on-street parking is available near the Centre, along Kirkcaldy High Street and surrounding areas. Please check for any time restrictions or charges that may apply.

There are several public car parks within walking distance of the Centre:

  • Kirkcaldy Esplanade Car Park: Located about a 5-minute walk from the Centre, with ample spaces available. Charges may apply depending on the time of day. Some are also free. 

  • Thistle Street Car Park: Approximately a 7-minute walk, offering paid parking options.

  • The Mercat Car Park: Conveniently situated next to the Mercat Shopping Centre, about a 5-minute walk to the Heritage Centre. This multi-story car park has plenty of space and offers easy access to local shops and facilities.

A limited number of disabled parking bays are available near the entrance of Adam Smith Close.

We recommend checking parking availability before your visit, especially during peak times. We look forward to seeing you at the Heritage Centre!

Wheelchair Access

The Centre is fully accessible for wheelchair users. Our entrance is located via Adam Smith Close, which allows for smooth access, although please note that the path is narrow and may not be suitable for wide double buggies.

Children & Families

Children are welcome to explore the Centre with their families, and we aim to provide a comfortable environment for all ages.

If you have any special requirements or need additional assistance during your visit, please let our staff know, and we’ll be happy to help.
